The Nordic Swan Label Ensures Sustainable Construction
The Nordic Swan is the official environmental label of the Nordic countries. It is awarded only to products and services that meet rigorous sustainability standards. Certification confirms that the building complies with strict environmental criteria—including energy efficiency, eco-friendly materials, and chemical safety. These standards ensure the building remains environmentally responsible throughout its lifecycle.
“The goal of the Nordic Swan label is to make better choices for the environment easy. The criteria set the direction, but the real impact comes from the work done by those applying for the label. Thanks to YH Homes and contractor Jatke, more people now have the opportunity to live in a certified sustainable home,” says Riikka Holopainen, CEO of Environmental Labeling Finland, which manages the Nordic Swan Label.
