YH Kodit’s house rules do not require you to inform your neighbors in advance about hosting a party. However, it’s considered good manners to let them know if there might be unusual sounds coming from your apartment—such as music performances or increased movement.

If you're expecting a large number of guests, consider staggering their arrival times so that a potentially small apartment doesn’t fill up all at once. Otherwise, you might run out of seating—and even fresh air. Noise levels can also rise unnoticed and become disturbing.

Some YH Kodit properties have club rooms available, which can be used for hosting family events. Shared yard areas in housing communities may also be used within the rules and with respect for neighbors’ peace. If you have a good relationship with your neighbors, you might even consider inviting them to join the celebration. This can help maintain positive neighborly relations.

YH Kodit offers a few guest parking spaces. It’s a good idea to check nearby parking options in advance so that guests don’t park in restricted areas or block emergency access routes.

Tampere, Turku, and their surrounding areas are full of summer events. In addition, summer brings many televised sports events that are fun to watch with friends. These events and festivals may inspire you to host viewing parties, pre-parties, or after-parties at home. We completely understand the temptation—but it’s important to remember that noise can easily carry into neighboring apartments, especially at night.

It’s courteous to inform your neighbors when you’re hosting an evening gathering. Your notice can include an estimate of when guests will leave and a promise to respect quiet hours.

Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Be prepared to talk with your neighbors if they have concerns or if noise from your apartment becomes disruptive. A friendly and flexible attitude helps maintain good neighborly relations.
